Personality || Over the years, Ramey has been abused and neglected and this has taught him how to be resilient, cautious and guarded of the world around him. He’s lost a lot. He’s suffered more than any one child really should have, and no one has really protected him. He’s had to learn to take care of himself. He’s wary of others and keeps his truths hidden as a means of self-preservation. “Keep your head down and your mouth shut” is his motto for survival because it’s a very harsh world to live in. Personal Information
| Childhood || Farid Eslami was a good man. He did right by his family and married a girl within their elite circle. He came from old money, so did she, and they were said to be a match made in perfect heaven. They were really happy, Farid and Vida Eslami. Happy right up until Ramin was born. It wasn’t his fault that Vida’s pregnancy weakened her immune system, made her ill and lead to her falling into a state of post partum depression which ultimately lead to her death. Ramin couldn’t be blamed for that. However, he does have some fond, core memories of his mother before her death. She wasn’t all that far gone that she didn’t care for him and he can, if he closes his eyes and tries hard, recall the sound of her voice singing Iranian lullabies to him. His father does as best he can raising Ramin but it’s difficult to raise a small boy who has the eyes of the woman he loves. It’s not long before Farid meets Violet Montague, a woman from England who has arrived by boat in Iran with a small child of her own. She’s beautiful and mysterious and captures his heart with her innocence. Farid feels a great need to protect her and thus begins his torrid love affair with the beautiful Brit which results in marriage. Ramin is uncertain about his feelings for his new stepmother. He’s young enough that he doesn’t entirely remember the tenderness of his biological mother’s embrace but old enough to know there’s a significant difference in the way she treats the child she brought with her and Ramin until the magic starts. It’s small things. Revenge on his stepsibling for getting preferred treatment from Violet that resulted in their hair turning blue when they were four years old. Later, when they are five, it’s unleashing a swarm of bees out of the hive because they pushed Ramin out of the way in order to see the hive first. These things did not go unnoticed by Violet. By six, it’s apparent that Ramin has magic, and her own child has not so much as shown a single ounce of magical ability. The favouritism switches from Violet’s own child to Ramin until his stepsibling has finally shown their magical abilities and Farid, a man who believes in religion first, cannot live idly by while his wife, his son and his stepchild all develop and perform magical feats that would be an offence to their religion. Violet is cast out, and with her, Ramin and his sibling. At seven years old, Violet remarries, a British Wizard, Bartholomew Evans, who comes from a decently wealthy family, and was her former lover during their time at Hogwarts. He takes in the children, but looks upon Ramin with disdain for his birth. A mudblood. His name is changed from Ramin Eslami to Ramey Evans and he is forced to prove himself every day of being worthy of the Evans name. Violet, who has never truly loved Ramey, turns a blind eye to the abuse afflicted upon him but his stepfather. Ramey’s life has become a living hell. He’s a servant in his own home, forced to cater to the needs of those who he calls Mother, Father and sibling. Bartholomew is a drunk, and when he drinks he finds any reason possible to pick a fight with the mudblood Iranian boy he is forced to father. He allows other purebloods who come into their home to talk down to Ramey, to treat him like he’s nothing more than a house elf who deserves a kick in the head here or there for being cheeky. Ramey has learned to keep his head down and his mouth shut. When his Hogwarts letter finally comes, it’s a relief for Ramey. He expects he will escape the abuse he’s subjected to at home and initially, it does. School Years || When his Hogwarts letter finally comes, it’s a relief for Ramey. He expects he will escape the abuse he’s subjected to at home and initially, it does. Because his last name is Evans, his family is known to be of pureblood descent and that saves him initially. He’s sorted into Slytherin although he’s not even sure he fits in with the Slytherins because of his true heritage. His sibling tells him that no matter what he cannot let the other Slytherins know he’s muggleborn otherwise his life will be even more miserable. As much as they might not get along, because his sibling’s mind has become rather thwarted by their parents and how they’ve been raised, Ramey’s sibling doesn’t truly enjoy the treatment he’s subjected to and wishes for Ramey to get some kind of relief. For his first year, things are actually okay. Ramey exists under the radar and manages to survive the school year without being subjected to too many horrors and even making his parents a little bit proud of him for getting good grades and for not letting anyone learn of his true heritage but every day he feels like he is walking on eggshells and carrying this huge secret. In his second year, the rumours start. The other pureblood children are beginning to learn about Evans family holding a mudblood in their midst and people are pointing to Ramey and his sibling to find out which one is the mudblood. Ramey thinks it is obvious since he looks nothing like Violet and even less like Bartholomew but initially, the other purists think it’s his sibling until cracking under the pressure of their taunting, Ramey’s sibling blurts out that it’s not him and that Ramey is the mudblood tainting the house of Slytherin. His life is hell from that moment on and he does everything in his power to keep to his motto of “keep your head down and your mouth shut” so he can get out of school alive. Adulthood || at least 100 words. Extra || Ramey has undiagnosed Congenital Insensitivity to Pain and Anhydrosis |
