| The entire train ride to Hogwarts, Cambrie had been worrying about being without her sister. While crossing in the boats, she had been scared she would not make new friends and the work would be too hard. She feared she would fail the sorting ceremony - she got Hufflepuff - and then she worried about what her dormmates would think of her after living with her for some time and learning her strange quirks - as if they had none themselves! There is so much to worry about at Hogwarts. All those worries dissipate come the morning following her sorting ceremony. She arrives in the great hall and looks around in awe as if she cannot believe it. "It had all been a dream. I was sure of it..." Cambrie says to herself. She's still sorting out her feelings when her dark eyes land on someone so dear to her. "Ash!" She exclaims and rushes towards her brother. Ashwyn Maddox |

It was back to Hogwarts for Ash. It was always a little surreal, that first night back in the magical dorms, but he’d slept well. He wasn’t the most morning of people so he was caught a bit off guard when his name was called. Belatedly he realized it was Cambrie. That’s right. She’d come to school with him this year and had been sorted into Hufflepuff the night before. There was probably some rule about staying by your own House’s tables but if there was he couldn’t bring himself to care. As she approached Ashwyn stuck out his arm to greet her with a one armed hug. “Morning, Cammie,” he said before giving into a jaw cracking yawn. “How was your first night?” Cambrie Maddox

| Wrapping both arms around her big brother tightly, has Cambrie feeling better than before. Homesickness is something she had been warned about upon arriving at Hogwarts. Missing her twin as well is something she knows she has to face. They've not been apart like this before and she feels this constant ache ever since leaving on the train with her brother but otherwise alone. However, she's not going to let it tarnish her good mood nor her experience. Plucking up some courage, Cambrie brightens and begins to tell him all about her first night in the castle. "Oh, everything is splendid! The beds are so big and cozy! There are no windows but we don't need them because everything is so brightly decorated! And the common room smells like Mother's kitchen, only better! I can't imagine what they are cooking up in there!" She knows her brother doesn't get the privilege of seeing other common rooms and she wants to describe hers to him clearly. "It just feels like...remember when we read that book about the little people who lived in the hills in cozy holes with circular doors?" She's speaking of hobbits from Lord of the Rings but cannot recall the name of the book. She just recalls they had the coziest homes. "And everyone has been so nice too!" She has not met any of the prejudice purebloods she knows exist yet and wonders if they are an old wives tale to keep kids in line and scare them into behaving. Ashwyn Maddox |
