The Dungeons were a perfect place to host the young Purebloods who would end up in the service of the Dark Lord upon their graduation. It was an isolated area where he could easily put up charms and shields to keep out the goody two shoes and prying ears that was Hogwarts. It also held no portraits or enchanted things that could broadcast their activities. Portraits were annoying in that they could travel, gossip and whisper, and there were things he wished not to reach certain ears.
This year, he had a newer, fresher, more uncertain group. Lucius Malfoy and the other elder students had already graduated, so the focus now was to bring in the other Purebloods in good standing without alerting anyone. That was why he had convinced the Dark Lord thus far that marking him would draw undue attention to himself and thus jeopardize the recruitment efforts at the school. That was holding for the time being, so long as the zealous next generation continued to join him once they left school.
A signature knock came at the door and he came closer, opening it slowly before grinning. The Slytherins, naturally, would get here first and be the biggest in number. Their parents and, in some cases, grandparents served already so it was natural for them to be here too. "Welcome, come in quickly. Is this everyone?" It didn't look like it but that made sense as well. Moving in large groups was ill-advised and he had told them to come in spontaneously spread out times. "You, here, take us some attendance, we don't want to be starting before everyone arrives."
(Feel free to be the student he thrust the parchment at!)

Regardless of her personal feelings on things, Tamsin knew what was expected of her. Personally she didn’t see the point of fanatical blood purity; she’d met enough clever and talented half-bloods and muggle borns to know that blood purity was outdated at best and deluded at worst. But that didn’t matter. Her opinion never did. And if she skipped this meeting her parents were sure to hear about it and be displeased. Just the thought of her mother’s displeasure made her quail internally. She wasn’t the first to arrive but she was among the first wave to enter the room. Before she knew it an attendance sheet was handed to her and she momentarily scrambled for her self-inking quill to take attendance as she was bid. Sitting at a seat near the front so she could check people off as they entered, Tamsin busied herself checking off those who had arrived with her as well as herself. It left a sinking feeling in her gut that she had, in fact, been expected. As people, mostly Slytherins of course, trickled in she dutifully marked them as present. Outwardly she was as poised and demure as she ever was, of course, but inwardly she squirmed uncomfortably. She knew she had no real free will at the end of the day. Unlike Andrea, she was utterly unable to buck any sort of familial expectations and to be honest it rankled a little. Not that she would ever give voice to such sentiments, of course. She knew her place in the grand scheme of things and it wasn’t up to her. Warren Rosier et all

A week after Sirius had left this newly past summer his father had taken him aside to speak to him. Likely to keep him out of his mother's clutches until she calmed down, there was a lot of walking on eggshells to not set her off. The conversation had not been about his brother, however, but more about a club at Hogwarts that he was being told to attend. Last year he had been too young to be involved but with Sirius running off and pressure on Pure lines, he was being brought into the fold. He suspected heavily it was to bring him to heel before he could get ideas like his sibling. It was held by one Warren Rosier who he knew only as a Pureblood related to someone in the family line. But what Pureblood wasn't really? The eccentric Professor of Ancient Runes had been easy to find at the start of school and even easier to talk to than he could have thought. He was...flamboyant. The way he acted he was surprised his father had told him to attend anything the man was in but he suspected the ties to the rising Dark Lord trumped any odd behaviours. Regulus actually didn't mind the odd behaviours as much as the ties to a dark wizard. He didn't want to be involved with that. "Good evening Professor Rosier. Tamsin." It was only polite to address everyone present as he entered in the second group of arriving students. The whole thing gave it a more secret feeling. A dangerous feeling as he looked around at who was present. Purebloods, for the most part, were the very students he either hung out with already or those he avoided irritating given their family ties. If this was a picture of his future he would very much like to hop out of the frame. Instead, he put on his best nonchalant facade to blend in. The last thing he wanted was for any negative word to make its way back to his family and for that to get him in trouble. His mother was cruel on the best of days, let alone on her worst. | Andrea is not willing to go to this meeting. It's not something she wishes for her life. She's the middle child and not necessarily required to perform the way her sister is required to perform but Andrea knows she can't not turn up. Word will get back to her parents and she will get a stern talking to if she doesn't show up. Rumours will spread. The Travers name will be tarnished. Andrea knows her job, as well as her sister, is to be exactly what their parents expect of them and that means going to this meeting.
Sighing, she looks across at her dormmates and realizes they are of a different calibre than her. They do not need to attend this meeting. Andrea slinks away, feeling ashamed. Choices are limited and she does not get one in this situation.
With her head down and her ponytail high - as always - Andrea enters the room filled with Slytherins. She sees her sister there and hesitates. At least her presence is known. Tamsin will at least report back to Mother and Father that Andrea is there. She hangs back, afraid to make any waves but her eyes remain locked on her sister to see what she will do.
