| Basic Information | Name || Kipplin William Harper Birthday || 8/17/1962 Age || 14 Gender || Male Blood Status || Half-Blood School || Hogwarts House || Gryffindor Year || 4th Personality || Kip has a strong sense of self and doesn't like to conform to anyone else's ideals. With the way he was brought up, he is wary of loud and aggressive people but refuses to be afraid of them, often rolling his eyes and making rude gestures. Introspective and thoughtful Kip often prefers solitude over socializing as his relationship with his family has instilled a deep-seated sense of isolation and insecurity that he struggles with when trying to explore who he is. He wants very much to be understood and accepted, which is hard as he struggles to let his guard down. Loyal and protective of those few he lets into his inner circle, he can be quite vicious toward those who are threatening. All of his frustrations and emotions are expressed in his clothing, style, music and art in a way that may not be unique but still feels like him. Family || George Harper, 40, father. Veronica Harper, 41, assumed mother. Dursun Burke nee Shafiq, 38, real mother. Simon Harper, 19, brother. Vanitas Burke, 15, unknown half-sibling. Likes || Rock music, calf-high boots, tattoos, crows, cats, sunsets, fireworks, the colour teal, eyeliner, Quidditch, forget-me-not flowers, and fizzing whizbees. Dislikes || Gentrification, peas, dress clothes, buzzkills, cramped/small spaces, American 'football', clowns (They aren't funny okay!), and being interrupted mid-task. |
Personal Information
| Childhood || As far as childhoods go, Kip's was a mess of one from the start. He was a fussy baby who didn't sleep a full night until well into toddlerhood and had strange facial shifts and changing hair colours. His father had nothing to do with his raising and Kip came to realize he was just a rage-filled man who seemed to take personal offence to Kip's existence. On the other hand his mother, while not abusive herself, remained rather complacent in the face of her husband's rage. She often stood by silently as her husband unleashed his wrath, her eyes filled with resignation. Or indifference. Despite the oppressive atmosphere at home, Kip still managed to be a good kid even with his small acts of rebellion and self-expression. It started with dressing in a punk style, initially as a form of defiance against his father's control but soon discovered it as a means of finding his own identity. Music became a lifeline, with loud, defiant songs providing an outlet for pent-up anger and frustration. It was not until he started showing signs of magic that things really changed. His doors would lock and be unable to be opened, his broken personal items returning to normal, and even minor cuts mending themselves without his knowing how. On his eleventh birthday, there was an explosive argument when a letter came about a school called Hogwarts. That was how he came to find out that all the little anomalies were magic. A stout little witch had arrived to explain matters and found the atmosphere to be rather intense. After a lot of convincing, and assurance that Hogwarts could assist in paying for school supplies, Kip found himself with a trunk full of second (and third in some cases) hand school supplies. School Years || The first time he stepped into the halls of Hogwarts he was awed. The eleven-year-old had never seen anything so amazing, from the living portraits and ghosts to the floating candles and obvious magic all over the place. It was what cemented in his mind that the whole thing was real. Swiftly sorted into Gryffindor he went through his whole first year hearing about the Marauders, seeing them together, hearing about their exploits. They were the coolest guys in school. Unfortunately, they were also older than him and a concrete group so he had to make friends in his own year. Not as easy as one might think given he was a bit wild, challenging authority and often in trouble. This persisted through his second year where he got more immersed in magic. He seemed to excel in Herbology and Charms, making potions explode (sometimes on purpose) and not being too keen on History of Magic. It didn't help that Professor Binns was an ancient ghost that put people to sleep. In his third year, he picked up care of magical creatures and divination. The class had sounded easy because he thought it couldn't be real. Like those carnival sees and whatnot. Turns out that is not the case. He found himself fascinated by the topic, even if he had zero gift in it whatsoever. By the end of the year, however, he would have improved his grades and buckled down to make an actual effort in his classes. He might not be anything in the Muggle world but he could be something in the magical one. Adulthood || n/a |
